Never Get Bored Books: Creative Ideas for Kids

How many times have you heard your child complain, “I’m booooorrrrrred!”? Don’t you wish you could ever be bored? Just once? I feel like there is always something to do. Cook dinner, clean the bathroom, do the laundry, run errands. Sometimes, I just do not have the energy to come up with something creative on my own for our daughter to do. That’s when I grab for one of our “Never Get Bored” books.

Usborne Books & More has a great selection of activities to make sure your kids never get bored again! They have a book for it all. Whether your kid likes the outdoors, art, mazes and puzzles, you can find an activity to keep them happy and busy. I use these books often, either exactly as described or as inspiration for something new. Here is a list of the books currently available on the site. Don’t miss the sneak peek video at the end!

Never Get Bored Book – The original book. This one contains a wide variety of activities to be done inside or outside, alone or with others. If you have a child with a wide range of interests, this is a great beginning choice.

Never Get Bored Outdoors – If your child loves being outside, this is the perfect book. Learn about bees, trees, or birds. Get creative by imagining life on a desert island or going on a jungle adventure. Learn how to read the night sky or survive a rainy day.

Never Get Bored Draw and Paint – Have a budding artist on your hands? This book will give them ideas on different mediums and techniques to use as well as inspiration on what to make. Even learn how to stage an art exhibition.

Never Get Bored Cut, Fold and Stick – This book gives ideas of how to turn materials already in your home, like foil or junk mail. Learn how to create a board game, puzzle, or mobile.

The first two books have over 100 activities and the last two books have just under 100 activities. They are mostly recommended for ages six and older, but my four-year old can do many of the activities as well. I always think art is what you make of it, you can make it simple or as complex as you choose. Best part is that most of the activities require little prep work.
